August 3, 2004 : General Meeting

Next Meeting : 6:30pm, 30 Aug 2004, at Shoney's North Monroe. (Edit by Moderator (Chris Gohlke): Due to a scheduling conflict the meeting had to be moved to September 2nd.

Discussion :
Articles of Organization
Need to have at least two officers. Since the group is not huge (yet!), we decided two would be fine for now. Sorcia volunteered to serve as President, and Gold Key was selected as Secretary. Team JaxDreamn will complete the Articles and forward the completed forms to Sorcia for final approval. Terms of office have not been established yet, but we hope to have opinions expressed at the next meeting Aug 30.
It was also discussed and decided that we would have two types of memberships... Founders would be able to pay $30 for a lifetime membership, with most of the proceeds going toward tax-exempt filing fees. The Founder membership will be closed on December 31, 2004. Regular memberships will be available after that for $15, renewed annually. Memberships would cover a family unit (vs. each individual in a family).
Logo
Several were proposed, and they were all wonderful. Nole-Man + Debbie also had a few more designs they wanted put into consideration, so the issue was tabled until the next meeting on Aug 30.
Membership Cards
Botany may have a way for us to have membership cards created! They would have our logo, membership level, and a photo. The cards would also explain what geo-caching is, and could be used for those awkward moments with official muggles...
