Just read a post over on FGA's forums about a GeoSpirit 2006 event (http://65.34.18.106/forum_viewtopic.php?14.17016). I've e-mailed Kay for the information and encouraged her to post more details here.

Based on some previous things she's said about it, it sounds like it's going to be a nice event. Can't wait to hear more!

GeoSpirit 2006 is still an event!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 2, 2006 and add a waypoint to Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in your GPSr.

This FREE one day event begins with registration at 8am on Saturday. T-Shirts and goodie bags will be given on a first come first serve basis.

There will be two workshops during the day. Geo-Caching for newbies will be held in the morning with a guided search to follow the workshop for new cachers learning how to operate their equipment. For those ready to roll, the Spirit of the Suwannee geo-cache search will be ready for you.

Lunch at the Spirit Lodge will be catered by the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council and there will be speakers during lunch to discuss placing caches on public lands.

Winners of the Hidden Treasures Contest will be recognized at lunch with free time until 4pm when those interested can attend a seminar for paperless geocaching.

Participants will receive free tickets to the Suwannee Lights Christmas lights display and there might even be a special night cache for those attending.

Contact the park if you want to rent a cabin or reserve a camping space.

There will be a final brainstorming session at 2:00 Sunday afternoon, November 12 at the Spirit Cafe in the park. Anyone with input or the volunteer spirit is encouraged to attend.

Watch the NFGA and TAG sites for additional information or email kdpeddie@netquincy.com.

I'll be giving them a call tomorrow! Check out the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park at http://www.musicliveshere.com/. Looks like a fun place with a TON to do.

Can't wait!
