April Meeting
« Thread started on: Mar 4th, 2005, 10:34pm » |

Who's supposed to be making arrangements for the April meeting? Don't I remember something about a covered dish event and maybe (hopefully) some fun stuff (like a few new caches) and getting a some newbies involved? Come on you guys! Let's get a move on. . . Summer will be here before you know it and it will be too hot to do much of anything. I'm willing to help if you'll just let me know what to do. After all, I am the "social director" whatever that means. Sorry, I am just having too much fun with the smilies tonight. K

I thought one of the people at the last meeting (can't remember his name, I should have had a sign in sheet) volunteered to get the details of the location that was being discussed for the meeting. Had not seen or heard anything since. Sorry I can't be more help, really swamped, I am about half way through my trial period to be a full Contributing Editor plus I picked up two new web design clients, but I hope to be at any event we do have.

Would anyone be opposed to a Sunday gathering on the 10th of April rather than Saturday the 2nd? Linda (Sorcia) called and had me contact River Bluff about availablity. Well there isn't any Saturday in April and the first Sunday it's open is the 10th. We could do our covered dish thing for those who won't be going to church that day and for those who are, they can join us afterwards.
We discussed getting some of the area newbies to hide temporary caches to show us what they are "worth" and maybe do a geoscrabble (whatever that is).
Please, please post your thoughts on this event or the whole thing just might get canned!

Sunday the 10th sounds good to me particularly if it starts late.

It appears the meeting is off due to lack of interest.

Very sad, but you're right. If no one else picks up the ball, I may call one for the end of April.

If you book it, they will come.*
*assuming it is booked far enough in advance to plan for it and the weather is nice

Unfortunately, there was a $50 fee to use the park, so we did not want to spend the money with only a few of us committing to attend.
