TAG 2007 Fall Event - RECAP

What a wonderful event! Before I get to the recap, let me give my sincere thanks to a few people. First and foremost, thanks to my family. A very big "Thanks!" to Chris (Goldkey) and Kay (Mastercacher & Geo"K") for all they've done in the planning and for their prize donations. Thank you to Donna (Tallahassee Lassie) and Anna (FishRockette) for their prize donations. A very big "Thanks!" to Urubu for developing such a wonderful puzzle that fit in so nicely with our Poker Run theme!
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for the Poker Run! We had 24 teams actually participate in the Poker Run. Far more attended the Meet and Eat event. What a turnout THAT was! We ended up with approximately 75 people in attendance! And how about that food?! Ole Times did a wonderful job on the food and of accomodating us!
Many teams started the morning at the check-in, right at the start time of 9:00 AM. It didn't take long for them to spread out and begin finding all of the caches! I was thrilled to hear that nearly every team was able to find all of the available caches! Way to go! The following is the list of caches, who found them first, and how quickly they were first found. There are also links to the caches. Be sure to go and log your finds now that they are published!
With an impressive table of prizes assembled, the fun began as we determined the rank of the hands dealt from four (4) decks of cards. A big thanks to Chris and his wife for making sense of it all and naming our overall winner. Drumroll, please... ...Sandi (Tallahassee-Lassie). Congratulations! Before it was over, nearly every team that competed, left with something! So, congratulations to all of the winners!
I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to hear from SO many people that they had a wonderful time finding the Poker Run caches and then that night at the event! I really am happy that everyone had such a great time! I know I did!
Finally, thank you so much to Chris and Kay for the thoughtful gift. I would say that I will wear the hat proudly, but Mrs. TeamHarrison seems to be quite fond of it! LOL!
We'll bask in the glow of this wonderful event for a few weeks and then start talking about the TAG Spring 2008 Event! Yippee!
