Getting started with Geocaching
There are many great caches in Tally. Just type in the Tallahassee Zip in Zip code block and go grab a smiley. You wont go wrong looking for any of the Tallahassee Parks and Recreation caches. For your first cache you might want to look for one with a 2 star or lower difficulty rating to ensure you will make the find and not get discouraged on your first try.

Geoduck is pronounced "Gooey Duck" NOT Geo Duck

Which site are you talking about: TAG (www.tagfla.com), the tag forums (http://tagfla.conforums3.com/), or www.geocaching.com.
TAG is the local geocaching group in Tallahassee, Florida. To find and seek your first cache, you will need to go to Geocaching.com to get the actual cache information to punch into your GPS. The links posted by the others will also help you get started. If you have a more specific question, please post and we will do our best to get you going. If you post what area of Tallahassee you are in, someone might even offer to meet up with you and show you the ropes on a nearby cache.

Like I asked susanharris, are you having trouble with THIS site, or geocaching.com? Is there something we need to fix or add here to make it easier? Some constructive feedback is appreciated.

Sorry...I had no clue that this site was just for feeds and not caching sites. I kept searching for something that had all the coordinates...It's a blonde thing...LOL. I think I have figured it all out on getting started. We are going hunting this Sat. I will let you know If we get lucky.....

I would recommend a cache that doesn't refer to having to look out for Muggles, because being your first cache you usually stick out some, and you could draw attention to a cache that shouldn't be discovered readily! Also Bulls-Eye is a harder cache to get too, not great for little kids, it's very briary back in there, we got some nasty cuts when we went! Otherwise you're going to have a blast! It's very addicting!

Also, consider joining us at our Jan 31 meeting. There are a lot of great caches right there that we can help you with.

I had more trouble in the beginning with this site, but after playing with it a couple of vists it is becoming easier. My first problem was trying to decide if I need to post under new members or just pick a topic and go for it as my first entry.

We had so much fun today!!!! We found 7 out of 8 caches. I think I will become addicted. It was so fun for me and the fam to spend good quality time together outdoors. Thank you for all the advice. We hope to come to the Jan. 31st meeting. Our team name is Queen of the Castle....

I'd recommend just trying it again as the site is periodically flaky.
